Butter (to grease)
2 (15 ounces) cans pears in juice (drained)
2 (1.6 ounces) packages uncooked instant oatmeal
â…“ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup lightly toasted hazelnuts or almonds (chopped)
â…“ cup butter (melted)
1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
Preheat the main oven to 425 degrees F.
Grease an 8" square glass pan.
Spoon the canned pears into the glass pan.
In a bowl, combine the oatmeal with the flour, hazelnuts, and melted butter.
Add the brown sugar to sweeten, if required. Stir thoroughly to combine to prevent the topping from clumping.
Scatter the oatmeal mixture over the pears.
Bake in the oven until golden brown for 15 minutes.
Remove the fruit crisp from the oven and serve warm.
