Cooking + Prep Time: 25 minutes
1/4 cup of oil, olive
4 x 3/4" slices cheese, provolone
1 tsp. of salt, kosher
1 tsp. of oregano, ground
8 French bread slices, thick
Optional: 1/4 tsp. of pepper flakes, red
Place sliced cheese in shallow dish. Drizzle them with oil.
Turn slices and coat both sides with the oil.
Sprinkle cheese with kosher salt & ground oregano. Sprinkle on pepper flakes, as desired.
Place cheese in freezer while grill is prepared.
Prepare grill for high heat. When that is reached, brush grate with oil.
Place slices of cheese directly on heated grill.
Cook till cheese is slightly browned and hot, about two minutes per side.
Remove cheese to plate.
Brush sliced bread with any leftover olive oil from cheese.
Grill till they have toasted slightly.
Serve.
